Hey y'all! My name is Maisey and I am officially committed to going on this Gap year Mission Trip. For the last 3 years I have been extremely committed to spreading God’s word and serving those around me. I have a huge passion to help people and build community. When I was younger my whole identity was wrapped up in soccer. After I quit soccer I questioned who I was. As God gave me a helping hand to get out of that dark place I realized how fulfilling and life giving pouring into others is. God provided me with a loving, supportive youth group to encourage me in many different ways to serve others. He also gave me many opportunities to give to those around me without wanting something in return. God is calling me to help encourage and serve others. Having others show me the true joy that God provides introduced me to the love that I have for it. I want to spread that joy and the truth behind it. God has been nudging me to do big things recently and I have loved every second of it. World race is a non-profit organization that gives people like me an opportunity to serve others around the world. As we go to different places we will be serving the Lord wherever He calls us to. That might be teaching, manual labor, praying, or even playing with the community. I have been called to the route that starts in Nicaragua, then we head to South Asia, Nepal and then we end in Eswatini. Coming out of high school, I’m not entirely sure what I wish to do when I’m older. With this amazing opportunity God is going to show me my passions and strengths to lead me the right direction. He is also going to show me so much about the world we live in and how to help those who are struggling. I am very excited for this trip and what the Lord has in store for me and my fellow racers.
