Work with indigenous peoples of the Americas, growing together in the grace of the gospel of Jesus Christ

We work with ministry partners in Native communities on eight reservations, mostly in the central and western United States. While American Indians can be found living almost anywhere in the United States, most remain on reservations.

The people are desperately in need of Jesus and spiritual direction. Many of them are in trouble, facing huge drug and alcohol addiction issues, family disintegration, and incredibly high suicide rates (even among the very young). The level of dependency and hopelessness is still hard for many people living outside the reservations to imagine, let alone understand.

This is a challenging ministry environment. Native Americans do not need more money, or more programs, apologies and reparations. They need a personal experience, a loving relationship with Jesus that will lead to hope and purpose.

In most cases, the nature of our ministry is very relational, with very little hands-on service work. Directed by a local pastor or ministry partner, we will be working alongside them, doing what God is already doing there.

There are a few mission trip opportunities serving the Native American community in New Mexico. Ranging from a kid’s summer camp with lots of hands-on service work to VBS and sports evangelism, our New Mexico mission trip opportunities are full of activity!

  • Summer Camp Support: The large facility demands a healthy amount of maintenance and repairs, and the staff needs help to keep things running smoothly. That’s where your team can make a difference.

  • VBS Support: Depending on the timing of your trip, there may be opportunity to assist with the planning, preparation and execution of Vacation Bible School.

  • Sports Camp: Plan and prepare a sports camp for local youth based on your talents and local desires.

  • Prayer Walks & Home Visitations: While praying over the community, meet locals, pray with them directly and invite them to ministry events, sports activities, etc.

  • Clothing Bank: Help sort clothing at the local clothing distribution center while getting to learn about the local culture and community.

  • Light Construction & Maintenance: This could include painting, cleaning or helping maintain the property based on the facility needs.

Other Native American opportunities are available as well. The opportunities listed are just meant to give an idea of what a Native American trip could look like.
