Group Trip - Dominican Republic : 23Y0531DR
The DR may look like a thriving tourist destination; but the reality is that over 40% of the country is living in poverty, earning less than $1.50 a day
The Dominican Republic (DR) shares the island Hispaniola with the country of Haiti. It is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea. Nearly 80% of the country’s 49,000 sq. km. is covered with mountains, but some 20 different topographical areas exist in the country.
The DR is the second largest country in the Caribbean with around 11 million people. Over 40% of the country is living in poverty, earning less than $1.50 a day and causing much heartache and suffering.
Adventures will be flying into the Cibao International Airport which is located in Santiago in the North part of the island. We will take a 20 minute bus ride and end up in the town Moca, where we will partner with the local pastors as they plant churches and share Jesus with the Dominicans and Haitians that are in their communities.
