Like many of my fellow racers, I grew up in the church, with a family that loved each other and the Lord very much. I accepted Jesus at a young age and I believe I understood the weight of my decision but I did not make Jesus the Ruler over my life until a little later. In my 5th grade year, a girl in my class passed away from a brain tumor that had burst. The same year there were multiple deaths in my family and I felt like I was surrounded by death. It scared me and I remember questioning the Lord, asking Him if death was what He had for me too. The Lord, in his loving kindness, assured me that he had good plans for my life. I remember feeling such a continual peace that lasted what felt like months- it was like the Lord was showering me with His love. Since then, He has kept His promise through each season, whether it be mountain top or valley.
I am so excited to see what the rest of these plans consist of as I live out my live loving Him. Right now, those plans look like hiking the mountain tops and valleys of the Camino de Santiago with an incredible group of bold lovers of the Lord. Something very special that I see in this group already is that we have loved the Lord since our childhoods. There is something so special about loving the Lord at such a young age and I know that the Lord will use that to bring glory to His name. I know that the Lord will do great things there as we go to walk in obedience.

Amen, so good girl!
