If you have a heart for reaching the unreached and empowering local believers to make disciples by serving with strategic partners who have a vision to see God move in the less-churched regions of the world, this 11 month outreach opportunity is for you.

Kenya: Your first month in Africa will take you to Kenya. From the Maasai bush to the slums of Kibera, Kenya’s story is as diverse as its people. The nation is home to 42 tribes, 69 languages, and 400,000 Somali refugees. Despite its developed economy, half of Kenya’s population lives under the poverty line. Many suffer from preventable health problems like malaria, diarrhea, malnutrition, and pneumonia. 

Uganda: Because of its location in the Nile River Basin, Uganda’s lush jungle, flowing rivers, and diverse wildlife have earned the country the nickname “the Pearl of Africa”. Much of Northern Uganda was hurt by the Lord’s Resistance Army, which heavily recruited child soldiers. Child labor is still prominent today, along with child prostitution. Refugees, both from Northern Uganda and Sudan, search for ways to buy food in a land without jobs. It’s also one of the poorest countries in the world. Will you share the love of Jesus in a land hungry for hope?

Turkey: Turkey is a nation where the deep religious history of the Middle East converges with the modern secularism of the West. As you walk down the streets of Istanbul, you will smell roasting chestnuts and open-air kebab stands, and hear the resounding call to prayer echo across the city. You might even be chased down by friendly Turkish people asking you to join them for a cup of tea.

Jordan: At the crossroads of Asia, Africa, and Europe, Jordan is one of the safest Arab countries in the Middle East. Home to many historical Biblical sites like the Petra and the Jordan River, it’s also a popular location for medical tourism. While 97% of the population is Muslim, some of the oldest Christian communities in the world live in Jordan. Despite conflict in nearby countries, this nation has become a safe haven for refugees from Palestine and Syria, in addition to Iraqi Christians fleeing ISIS. Will you encourage local Christians, serve refugees, and share God’s love in Jordan?

South Asia: Your journey will conclude in South Asia. Most Racers live and serve in the northeast region of South Asia, where the villages are bustling with activity. You’ll experience South Asia with all your senses as you walk through the sea of colors and take in all the spices wafting through the air. South Asian people might seem stern, but their hearts are incredibly warm and relational. Expect to be invited into someone’s home and offered chai often as people invite you to simply sit and talk. 

Nepal: A very spiritual and breathtaking mountainous country. Most of our work in Nepal is about sharing the Gospel with marginalized people, especially those in rural areas. Whether you’re in the cities outlined by the Himalayas or trekking through the hills yourself, you’ll most likely find yourself walking long distances to share your faith over a cup of milk tea.
