Before I came to work with Ciudad Refugio, I remember being expectant of what God would do. However, I didn’t understand the layers of the organization or what I was stepping into. Being in the Bronx, the worst part of Medellín, I saw hopelessness and addiction. Worst than anything I’ve seen in the major cities of the U.S. My team and I prayed with people and then prayed together later. One of my teammates declared that one of the streets, hell street, would now be renamed redeemed street! I saw redemption and that God was in the midst of us. We saw testimonies of people once on that street now living for Christ! Now, we can intercede for people on redeemed street, people in the refugee centers, people in the Bronx, and the people of Medellín to know Jesus!
